We've got one hospital on record as closing down its obstetrics ward because of Obamacare. The difference between what they'll allow doctors to get and what those doctors need to cover their costs is not sufficient to justify staying in the practice. Other hospitals will also close down parts of their business.
The assumption that doctors will continue to practice medicine even at rates that do not allow them to pay their costs, adequately pay their staff, and still recover the cost of their education and training is one of the chief stupidities in a law that is by no means lacking in them.
By the way, what happens when supply drops and demand stays steady or increases? Rrriiiggghhhttt. The price goes up. The article claims the rise in insurance costs is to cover the tax increase. That's only part of it. Obamacare is designed to reduce the supply of medical services, including medicines, trained practitioners, medical devices, and what we consider at present to be routine equipment. At the same time, with its promise of "free" health care, it is designed to increase demand for medical services.
Pelosi, Reid, and Obama claim this will cut costs. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama are either lying, guilty of gross stupidity, or both.
I don't think they're stupid.
