This is interesting. The International Longshore & Warehouse Workers union has cut ties with the AFL-CIO. They find the latter's support for Obamacare and unfettered immigration to be problematic, it seems.
Granted, the ILWW wants full-on government-funded, single-payer "insurance" (such a system is not really insurance - it's a state-owned monopoly in which doctors & nurses, etc. are government employees), so it's not like this labor union has suddenly gone all rational and conservative on economics.
The AFL-CIO has also been moaning about Obamacare lately. They want it, just not for themselves. They want a waiver so they can keep their health plans intact and low-cost rather than being forced on to the system AFL-CIO wants for everybody else, just like Congress got a waiver so they don't have to put up with the crap they're shoving on to the rest of us.
So if this is such a great idea, this Obamacare, why are all the leftwingers who designed, argued, promoted, built and eventually passed this thing trying to jump off the boat?
